An applicant must pass strict requirements at each point in the hiring process, including the initial resume screening, an extensive application, and a personal interview before they are hired as a TOR substitute. Criminal and TB Clearance All our teachers must prove that they are TB-free and pass the CA Department of Justice Live Scan process for criminal record clearance, or hold a current, valid California Credential or Children’s Center Permit. Ongoing evaluations of TOR Substitute Teachers As part of Teachers On Reserve’s ongoing quest for excellent customer service, we frequently conduct Quality Checks with our client schools regarding our teachers. Your school’s active participation in this process helps TOR continue to provide the best possible substitute matches. Complete Insurance Coverage Teachers On Reserve substitutes are fully covered through TOR’s own Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment, Liability and Professional Insurance policies. Payroll Processing and Invoicing Teachers On Reserve pays teachers on a weekly basis and is responsible for complying with all federal and state payroll tax obligations. Schools are sent weekly invoices for substitute services provided during the previous week.
