We hire teachers year-round, based on the needs of our client schools. What if I have not yet completed my BA? You need to complete your BA to work in most of the TOR client schools. The exception is in Child Care, where you need to have at least 12 ECE Units. How often will I work? TOR does not guarantee that you will work any certain amount of time, but you will increase the number of assignments you receive by doing a great job teaching (schools constantly request the teachers they like), communicating your availability and returning all phone calls. Can I set my own schedule? Yes. You must communicate weekly (by phone or Web) with the TOR office regarding the upcoming week's availability. After that, if your availability changes, you need to contact the TOR office immediately at 800-457-1899. How much will I get paid? TOR teacher salaries vary depending on grade level and credentials. Salaries can be discussed when you are called for an interview. How far will I be required to travel? That depends on you. You tell us how far you are willing to travel. Remember, the farther you are willing to travel, the more assignments you become eligible for. When do I need to report my availability? You need to tell us your availability for the upcoming week by noon each Wednesday. How often will I get paid? TOR pays teachers on a weekly basis. How can I get long-term assignments? Do an excellent job teaching. Most teachers on long-term assignments are requested by satisfied schools who have used them on short-term assignments. Could my employment with TOR lead to a permanent position? Yes, we place teachers in permanent positions in client schools throughout the school year. Again, the best way to secure a permanent position is to do a fantastic job while substituting.
